Free exploration game
The Labyrinth is a free exploration experience for Roblox created by Nitenity Studios. The game features numerous rather elaborate labyrinths. However, there’s so much more to this experience than that. This experience was created in 2016 but has managed to continue its rise in popularity due to regular updates and brand-new content. As of the writing of this article, the experience had over 100 active players and was the favorite experience of over 600,000 players.
The Labyrinth is supposed to be a play on the Mazerunner literary and digital entertainment franchise, but in reality, it has a heavier focus on the classic MMORPG gameplay aspects. Therefore, Outlaster would be one of the closest alternative experiences. The game also has a relatively heavy focus on PvP combat. Therefore, another good alternative would be something like Mortal Kombat.
A-maze-ing
With the name The Labyrinth, you’d expect this game to have at least one intense maze. In fact, it has many of them scattered around the vast map. When you first spawn, the maze may be a little difficult to notice at first. However, you’ll soon realize that the maze is denoted by the massive grey pillars in the distance - this is where the likeness to the books and movies starts.
Before you enter the maze, the game feels more like a medieval MMORPG. Inside the maze, you’ll encounter puzzles, quests, traps, and monsters that are reminiscent of the Grievers from the Mazerunner series.
Fantasy MMORPG
Imagine any of your favorite MMORPGs, and you’ll essentially be looking at The Labyrinth. This game has every single one of the classic fantasy MMORPG tropes, including countless NPCs with side quests, a somewhat vague yet exciting main game, and a vast array of weaponry and armor with which to safeguard your person.
This game even lets you turn yourself into a monster at night. It doesn’t get much more fantasy MMORPG than that.
Find the exit or your online alterego
With there being so many game modes and ways to enjoy The Labyrinth, this is literally the best place to do just about anything. With the intense attention to detail and insane atmospherics you can kill or be killed, go galavanting around the maze, or find love in a hopeless medieval place, and you’ll look really good doing it.
If you like MMORPGs, or, indeed, any other type of fantasy or exploration game, this is definitely the game for you.
